Marcelo Allende’s Mamelodi Sundowns future unclear as contract enters final year

The 27-year-old Chilean international has spent the past four seasons with the Brazilians after signing from Uruguay's Montevideo City Torque in 2022.

He has been a standout performer for the Brazilians in his time in the Betway Premiership and would be a massive loss if he was allowed to leave.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's league clash with Marumo Gallants, Allende said in the Sowetan: "I am focused on my last year here at the club, and I haven't spoken to anyone [regarding the extension of my contract]. I am really focused."

"When I have to play, I will always give my 100%, because the most important thing is the result and to bring good things to the club.

"We've been training well, and we are ready for the next one [against Marumo]," he said.

Allende has contributed 16 goals and 16 assists in 177 games for the Brazilians.
