Asante Kotoko begin search for new coach after Karim Zito exit

Communications Director Sarfo Duku confirmed that the Porcupine Warriors are already engaged in discussions following the departure of Karim Zito, who recently stepped down from his role.

In the interim, Prince Yaw Owusu has taken charge until the end of the current campaign, as the club weighs up its long-term options.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Duku emphasised that the priority is to bring in a coach with the pedigree to revitalise the squad, wrote Ghanasoccernet.com.

"We are hoping and working to appoint an experienced manager going into next season," he said. "It could be either a local coach or an expatriate coach who can transform the playing body."

Despite a challenging season, Duku made it clear that Kotoko have not abandoned their ambitions for the current campaign.

"The season is almost over for Asante Kotoko with four games to end the season, but we are not giving up as a club because anything can happen," he added.
Kotoko's struggles have left them sixth in the standings, 10 points behind leaders Medeama SC, with their title hopes hanging by a thread as the season approaches its conclusion.
