Komphela warns Bafana Bafana of South Korea's counter-attack threat

The former Bafana Bafana captain spoke to Metro FM's Sports Night Amplified ahead the national team's must-win encounter against the South Koreans, highlighting the opponent's main characteristics and possible threats.

"What we picked up from South Korea is that they are set in their ways," said Komphela.

"They are very consistent in how they play and they are very quick on counter attacks, so what we may have to do is to look after the ball. So, the game [plan] is going to be similar, because they also do the same, but they are very quick going forward and they play 4-3-3 with two number 10s.

"Hey those people can break quickly! We have to be careful."

South Africa are yet to lose to a fixture against Asian opposition in FIFA competitions, having previously drawn 0-0 against Iraq during the 2009 Confederations Cup and against Saudi Arabia in the 1998 World Cup in France.

However, only a win will help Hugo Broos' side to advance past the group stage of the global showpiece.
