Cardoso claimed 11 points from a possible 15 with three wins and two draws from five matches through April.
He secured the award ahead of title rival Abdeslam Ouaddou of Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs' coaching duo Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef.
Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis was, meanwhile, named Player of the Month and he also claimed the Goal of the Month award.
Appollis netted four goals and provided one assist in four games and, with his strike against AmaZulu at Amstel Orlando Arena named the best goal of the month.
