The versatile 30-year-old featured prominently under Belgian coach Broos, establishing himself as the nation's number one left-back and featuring in every minute of the FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.
Modiba made 39 appearances during the Belgian mentor's stint, featuring in both the 2023 and 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament as well as the successful 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Masandawana star has now pleaded with Broos to remain at the helm of the South African national team beyond amid links of him departing from his position.
"I hope he stays. That one, yeah, I hope he stays," said Modiba to reporters after the match.
"He can still, you know [carry on], he has unfinished business with AFCON. So, I hope he stays. He has made a very positive impact. I think he has changed South African football, if we are being honest.
"We haven't qualified for these major tournaments consistently before. So yeah, I think he has changed that. The mentality of the players, the way we approach games. Because right now, we don’t fear anyone irrespective of the big names or whatever. We fully believe in ourselves, and we believe we can match any team on the planet."
SAFA are expected to make a formal statement about the future of the head coach ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
