The 31-year-old midfielder announced his decision in a heartfelt social media message, thanking supporters, staff and teammates after nine remarkable years in Manchester. He said: "When I arrived nine years ago, I was following a dream, this club gave me much more than I ever hoped for."
Since joining in 2017, Silva had made 451 appearances, scoring 76 goals and providing 77 assists. His influence under manager Pep Guardiola was central to City's dominance, with the Portuguese star collecting 19 major trophies.
Those honours included six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups and five League Cups, alongside a historic Treble and the famous "Centurions" season. Silva also recently captained City to Carabao Cup success against Arsenal, underlining his leadership role in the squad.
