The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is said to have chosen PSG ahead of Liverpool if he leaves the Bundesliga side this summer, highlighting the French champions' growing influence in the race for elite young talent.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has also been credited with reporting that the Ivorian star has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG, with negotiations now expected to shift to the club-to-club stage, wrote Flashscore.
RB Leipzig, however, are not expected to make the deal easy. The German side are understood to value the highly rated winger at around 130 million euros and are still hoping to retain him for at least another season, although that stance is reportedly becoming difficult to maintain amid rising interest.
At this stage, the next decisive step will be official talks between PSG and Leipzig, which will determine whether the deal accelerates or stalls into the final weeks of the transfer window.
Diomande is currently preparing for Ivory Coast's knockout clash with Norway at the World Cup at Dallas Stadium on Tuesday.
