Mamelodi Sundowns' Betway Premiership title dreams still alive, insists Aubrey Modiba

Mamelodi Sundowns' Betway Premiership title dreams still alive, insists Aubrey Modiba

While the table-topping Brazilians' league season is complete, Orlando Pirates in second place have one game left to play, against relegation Orbit College this Sunday.

They already wasted their first opportunity to claim the league title last weekend when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Durban City.

In the Mswenko Boys they face a team needing all three points to avoid the relegation/promotion play-offs and will be fighting tooth and nail against a Bucs team who have to claim all three points - to secure their first league title in 14 years.

Sundowns are in the middle of the CAF Champions League final, where they lead 1-0 from the first leg, following a super first-half set price from Modiba.

Speaking ahead of the second leg and the final round of league fixtures, a confident Modiba explained that, no matter how small, there is still a chance they will be crowned Premiership winners, again.

"Yeah no, obviously, when it was a draw, we were watching that game," said Modiba in the Citizen.

"When it was a draw, we still believe, we always believe, anything can happen but we also know the quality of Orlando Pirates, how bad they want the league.

"Hopefully in the last game against Orbit they have the same result, so we'll just hope and pray. We always believe, you must always believe, so yeah, we believe."
