The Brazilians secured their place in this season's final with a 2-0 aggregate win over Esperance, with Colombian striker Brayan Leon netting a goal in each game.
Sundowns famously won the coveted continental showpiece back in 1995 with victory against ASEC Mimosas over two legs, and while they have come close to repeating that feat in recent years, and even made it to the final last season, a second Champions League title continues to elude the team.
For Brazilians boss Miguel Cardoso, this is his third final, and Morena says the experienced gained over the past 12 months will stand them in good stead at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on May 15 and for the return leg at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium a week later.
Morena played a significant role in the club's Champions League campaign this season and provided the assist for Leon's goal in the first leg.
"It's mixed emotions knowing that we still have to work very hard and getting here was a mission accomplished. We have done our level best to grind on the pitch and give our all for the supporters," he said after the game.
"It's one of those medals that has been haunting us and also for the team because it had been a long time not getting anything from the champions league.
"We're doing very well but I think this time, the good thing is that we know what we're looking at and we can see that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
"The most important thing is to grind the way we have been grinding, and we know that when you go away, it's a bit difficult.
"But we know that we have been getting good results away and home. We will try to minimise conceding goals because it's something that we have been doing well in the Champions League."
