Agent says best is yet to come from rising star Michael Kayode

Kayonde was included in Italy's squad for the first round of UEFA Nations League fixtures and, while he missed the first match against Belgium, he started and scored on debut in the second game against Turkiye.

He was also in the starting lineup for the 1-1 draw against France on Friday and is expected to play a significant part in the final match of the international window against against Turkiye.

Kayonde has been a key player for Brentford in the Premier League since moving from Fiorentina in 2025 and his emergence at international level further proves he has what it takes to compete at the highest levels of football.

However, at just 22 years old, Kayonde's agent is confident he has not yet reached his full potential and will continue to improve over the coming seasons.

"It's a source of pride to see Michael at this level. I was in Bursa on Monday for his debut, and when the goal went in, I felt a very strong emotion," Giuseppe Pesce said.

"Consider that I even had to hold back my celebration, because we Italians were surrounded by police. So I stayed composed, even if inside I was exploding. It was an incredible debut, worthy of a film plot.

"The best comes now. Having got to the point of starting for the national team is only a point of departure to keep doing better. Michael still has big margins for improvement.

"He surprised me with the incredible humility that sets him apart and with knowing how to face every situation with a smile.

"Even when things weren't going the best way in his last months in Florence, Michael never got down and carried straight on his own path.

"The facts proved him right with the move to the Premier League, strongly wanted by everyone and arriving at a difficult moment when he was playing little."
