Usuthu have made an impressive start to the season and find themselves in third spot on the league table after seven fixtures with striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya leading the goalscoring charts.
The Zimbabwean attacker has scored in every game in the 2026/27 campaign and will be keen to extend his goalscoring run when they face local rivals Durban City.
Meanwhile, City have made a change of coaches, with the well-travelled Eric Tinkler taking over the reins from Khalil Ben Youssef after an underwhelming start to the current season, with the club sitting in tenth position on the log after winning only one match.
Chairman Farook Kadodia's side have already played two KZN derbies this campaign, with a goalless draw against Golden Arrows and a 1-1 result against Richards Bay.
The two teams have met on two previous occasions in the Betway Premiership [last season], with Amazulu winning both matches via a 1-0 scoreline.
A victory for Arthur Zwane's Usuthu will see them temporarily overtake beaten MTN8 finalists to second spot on the log while a win for City could see them move up to seventh position.
Kick-off is at 19H30.
