The 23-year-old has scored three goals in his first four appearances since returning to Chloorkop, giving the reigning champions an additional attacking threat ahead of a crucial period of the season.
Kekana has welcomed Mailula's return and believes the forward is already rediscovering the confidence that made him one of South Africa's most exciting young talents.
"Obviously, a good addition for us because we have always loved Cash. He has always done the business for us," said Kekana.
"We are happy that he is scoring again. His confidence is coming back. It wasn't difficult for him to gel with us because most of us are still here from when he was here. You know, he is a quality player."
Mailula initially broke through at Sundowns during the 2022/23 campaign, enjoying a prolific season that saw him score 15 goals and provide four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
His performances earned him the PSL Young Player of the Season award before he departed for Toronto in 2023.
Now back in familiar surroundings, Mailula has quickly settled into the Sundowns squad, with Kekana expecting him to become even more influential as the campaign progresses.
"We know he is going to be banging in a lot of goals this season. We just need to make sure that his confidence is back and that he keeps striking for us. But we are happy with Cash," the defender added.
Mailula will have another opportunity to continue his goalscoring form when Sundowns face Golden Arrows in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
With a place in the final at stake, Sundowns will be hoping their returning star can once again make the difference in front of goal.
