The trio could give Fernando Da Cruz more experienced options in the final third as Chiefs look to improve their attacking output.
Amakhosi have scored 12 goals in seven Betway Premiership matches, with the need for greater cutting edge highlighted by their goalless draw against Golden Arrows in Mbombela before the FIFA international break.
Da Cruz expressed concern over the lack of maturity among some of his younger attackers after that result. The return of Mayo, Da Silva and Ighodaro could now address that issue, with the three forwards boasting more than 400 senior appearances and 144 career goals between them.
"We have a lack of maturity in our front-line, its young players but players with a lot qualities but they have a lack of maturity, but we're on the good way," said Da Cruz.
Mayo, 28, has scored 60 goals in 141 appearances and can operate either centrally or from the wing. The South African international also gained valuable experience with CR Belouizdad in Algeria.
Da Silva, the oldest at 30, has 61 goals from 182 appearances and represents Guinea-Bissau. His physicality and experience could complement Chiefs' younger attackers after he scored eight times last season and found the net in his first appearance of the current campaign.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Nigerian forward Ighodaro brings strength and aerial prowess, having scored 25 goals in 97 top-flight matches. His 90% aerial-duel success rate could prove valuable against deep defensive blocks.
