Ghanaian teenage star Fatawu Ganiwu set for Dynamo Kyiv move

The 18-year-old is expected to make the move from Ghanaian Division Three side AS Koppan, the Accra-based development club where he has spent much of his young career.

According to Ghana Sports Online, Ganiwu has already completed his medical examinations and signed his contract, with Dynamo Kyiv beating competition from a number of clubs to secure his services.

The move represents another significant step in the youngster's rapidly developing career after he previously caught the attention of several high-profile European clubs.

Ganiwu has trained with English Premier League clubs Chelsea, Bournemouth and Brentford, while he also had a trial with Austrian giants RB Salzburg.

His spell at Chelsea was particularly notable, with the midfielder spending a month at the club's Cobham training centre. During his time in England, he trained with both the Under-18 and Under-21 teams and featured in youth fixtures against Manchester United and Sheffield United.

The central midfielder also gained senior experience in Ghana after joining Legon Cities on loan in September 2024. He later moved to French side US Avranches on another loan spell after playing in the Ghana Premier League.

Ganiwu has also represented Ghana at several youth levels and first attracted widespread attention during the UEFA Youth Championship in Serbia with the Black Starlets.

He played an important role as Ghana stunned Serbia, Spain and Switzerland on their way to winning the tournament.

The teenager later progressed to the Ghana U-17 setup before earning a place in Maxwell Konadu's Black Satellites squad for the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Côte d'Ivoire this off-season.

His next challenge will come in Ukraine, where he will join a Dynamo Kyiv side competing in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.

The club is expected to provide Ganiwu with time to adapt to European football and develop within its first-team environment as he begins the next chapter of his promising career.
