Hugo Broos admits to disappointing Bafana Bafana display against Jamaica

The result sees South Africa head into the global showpiece without a victory in their last five matches before their tournament opener against Mexico.

Belgian head coach Hugo Broos lamented his sides overall showing against the Raggae Boyz, urging his charges to do much more if they want better results in Group A.

"The performance was not what I expected," the 74-year-old told reporters.

"I think we have to analyze the game very well and see what was really wrong and try to make it better in the next few days so that we are ready for the first game against Mexico. But again, it was, for me, a disappointing game against Jamaica. So, yes, I have to look at what went wrong.

"I think it was also a matter of mentality. We have to do more, much more, than what we did this afternoon to have good results in the World Cup in the next few weeks."

Bafana will take on co-hosts Mexico on Thursday before facing Czech Republic and South Korea.
