Earlier in the campaign, the forward was valued at around 60 million euros, reflecting his pace, attacking threat, and potential. However, recent reports suggest that Dortmund may now only be able to command between 30 and 40 million euros if they decide to sell during the upcoming transfer window.
The drop in value has not come without reason. Adeyemi has struggled for consistency on the pitch, drifting in and out of the starting line-up as Dortmund searched for stability in attack. While his return of 10 goals and five assists in 37 appearances is respectable, it has not been enough to cement his place as a key figure in the side.
Off-field issues have also played a role in his decline. In November, Adeyemi was fined 450,000 euros for illegal possession of weapons while on international duty with Germany, an incident that drew significant attention.
A month later, he faced further criticism after reacting poorly to being substituted during a Dortmund match, raising questions about his professionalism.
With his contract running until 2027, Dortmund had previously been expected to open talks over an extension. That now appears increasingly unlikely, as the club reassesses his role and value within the squad.
For Adeyemi, the coming months could prove decisive. Either he rediscovers the form that once made him one of Germany's most exciting young attackers, or Dortmund may look to cash in while there is still strong interest in the market.
