The Argentina centre-back is expected to leave Spurs during this current transfer window, with reports stating that he has already agreed to terms for a four-year deal with La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.
However, Premier League champions Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry for the 28-year-old, but his club is said to not be interested in letting the player join their arch-rivals.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Atletico are in negotiations with Tottenham, who are reportedly looking to sell Romero for around £34.2million.
Serie A champions Inter Milan have also shown interest but need to sell players in order to afford to finance the move for the Argentine defender.
Romero has made 156 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur since joining the club from Italian club Atalanta in 2021, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists while leading the team to their first title [2025 Europa League] in 17-years.
