
The ex-Maritzburg United head coach previously had a stint with Yanga's domestic rivals Simba SC, with whom he finished in second place to during the 2024/25 league campaigning while guiding the team to a CAF Confederation Cup final loss to RS Berkane.
According to iDiski Times, the Tanzanian side have already tabled an offer for the South African coach, but he is yet to commit to the new challenge.
Davids spent most of the 2025/26 at Botola Pro League outfit Raja Athletic Club, replacing former Orlando Pirates colleague and head coach Josef Zinnbauer.
His spell at the club began well but it took a negative turn in the new year, with Raja parting ways with the former Orlando Pirates assistant coach, despite still being in contention for their domestic league title.
Yanga are set to secure their 27th league title when they face JKT Tanzania in their last NBC Premier League fixture.
