Tunisia's US Monastir unveil Romain Folz as new head coach

The 36-year-old former Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu joins the club on a one-year deal taking him to the end of the 2026/27 season.

Folz has coached a number of teams in Africa, starting as assistant manager of Uganda in 2019 and assistant at Pyramids before taking up his first head coach role with Bechem United in Ghana.

The French coach enjoyed spells with fellow Ghanaian team Ashanti Gold and Botswana's Township Rollers before joining Marumo Gallants in South Africa's Betway Premiership.

A stint with AmaZulu preceded a short time with Guinean professional football club Horoya before a brief return to South Africa as part of the Mamelodi Sundowns technical team.

He was most recently employed by Tanzanian giants Young African and now replaces Tarek Jarraya, who guided Monastir to fifth in the league last season.
