Milan bet big on Ramos, spending in the region of 80 million euros to acquire the Portugal international from French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain over the off-season.
Ramos was unable to get on the scoresheet in AC Milan's season-opening 2-1 win away from home against Torino but hit the back of the net for the opening goal in their 2-0 victory over Venezia at San Siro on Friday night.
Amorim revealed the club was willing to spend so much on Ramos because he was a striker with a pedigree for scoring goals and acknowledged his impact on the club has extended beyond that.
"Of course he's a striker, we paid a lot of money because he scores goals, but the way he plays, works, connects the game, that means a lot," Ramos told DAZN Italia.
"Sometimes it looks like we have two guys breaking the line, but it’s just Goncalo Ramos.
"The way he didn't score big opportunities, he was composed for the third one and free to score a goal. That shows he is an experienced player, he's not thinking about the missed chances, he's thinking about the next one."
It was glowing praise from the manager, especially considering Ramos had eight shots on goal and only scored once.
For his part, Ramos is enjoying the start of his career at AC Milan and appreciates the attacking mentality Amorim is focusing on.
"It's clear on the pitch our DNA, our new mentality, we want to play football and win every game, but at the same time we want to enjoy our football," said Ramos.
"We are here to win, but also to have fun. It is very easy to be here, everyone helps me every day, I feel at home already and that’s an amazing feeling."
