The 21-year-old has found game-time hard to come by under Bucs boss Abdeslam Ouaddou, having stepped up from the reserves in the 2024/25 season.
He made just two appearances last term in the final weeks of the campaign but has already featured three times this season for the Betway Premiership champions.
Selepe made his first start as Pirates secured their place in the MTN8 final with a convincing 4-0 aggregate win.
As the team prepare to face newly promoted Kruger United in a league game on Tuesday, the midfielder admits that he has his work cut out to secure a place in the club's midfield.
"My start shows the belief the coaches have in me," Selepe told the Bucs website.
"At the start of the season I was not even making the match-day squad, so it was very important for me to grab the opportunity with both hands when I got it.
"As you know, our midfield is packed with talent, so when I am given an opportunity I must grab it with both hands."
Pirates' reward for a convincing MTN8 semi-final win is a final encounter with league rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
